Bones to Ashes

Bones to Ashes

Kathy Reichs

Temperance Brennan, like her creator Kathy Reichs, is a brilliant, sexy forensic anthropologist called on to solve the toughest cases. But for Tempe, the discovery of a young girl's skeleton in Acadia, Canada, is more than just another assignment. Évangéline, Tempe's childhood best friend, was also from Acadia. Named for the character in the Longfellow poem, Évangéline was the most exotic person in Tempe's eight-year-old world. When Évangéline disappeared, Tempe was warned not to search for her,

I've had many people recommend Kathy Reich's books to me, but I never tried them. I think my bias was based on the tv show BONES. I do not like the show. Tempe comes across as cold and snooty. I just never enjoyed the show (even thought I thought I should). Well, I just got hooked on the books!!! I read all of them in about 2 weeks and now I'm really "jonesing" for more!! (Reichs can end a chapter making you want to read more and more and more...no one ends a chapter with a cliffhanger like she does) Tempe in the books is so much more human. I get frustrated with her sometimes, but that is more my failing than hers. From time to time I notice errors in the text - I wish I could be Kathy's proofreader (and, of course, get to read the books sooner!?!) I agree with one other comment - the relationship between Tempe and Ryan is not so mature. They never talk. It's just swirling conjecture. And Ryan's returning to his ex-fling? WEAK! Overall, I think I have found a new favorite author!! Please, keep them coming.

I'm not absolutely sure I read all the Tempe Brennan stories, but I have read most of them. We used to visit Montreal from time to time. We have also visited the Myrtle Beach area many times. I really like the books and the bi-lingual aspect of the stories...studied enough French to know some without translation. I really enjoy the books. No explanation why I haven't been a TV viewer. The books are so rich and enjoyable. Thanks for so many good hours of reading pleasure.

I just finished reading Bones to Ashes. While reading, I began to wonder about Tracadie so I did a web search. I was somewhat surprised to find it really existed. Of course then I followed up with Shelduck Island which led me to a site loaded with Canadian stories. Thank you! I not only enjoyed the book, I also found out more about my country and it's legacy.

My sister and I read books out loud to each other, and we love your novels. It is such a kick to discuss certain passages together and share our thoughts about the books. We especially enjoy making different voices for characters to differentiate them for our understanding. As you may think, we have a lot of good laughs and comradery when we read together. Thanks so much!

love the books..love the tv show Bones...but i think the show should follow the characters better..loke tempe having a sister (harry) nstead of having a brother..as we all know tempe's brother died at a young age and her mom moved to the carolinas after her dad died and tempe has a daughter also..wish we could have seen it this way ..i would love to have seen the man who would have played Dec.Ryan..please keep up the great work. i will read as many as you wright

I have just finished reading Bones to Ashes and was thrilled with the book. I always like to peruse "the forensic files of Dr. Kathy Reichs" after I read each of her books. I like that you had to log on to this website in order to see these files. I like the video, as we get to see more of the famous forensic anthropolgist and author. I was hoping to find out more about her friend, Evangeline, but I assume her character was fictional, since she wasn't mentioned on the video. I too started watching the television show, Bones, when I noticed that the show was based upon your life and books. The books are great, I have read everyone and can't wait for the next. The show is as wonderful. As someone else had said, Bones and Booth are two of the best characters on t.v. Their chemistry is second to none. The writers have done a wonderful job adding enough humor to the show and making for a nice balance between drama and comedy. My Finace loves the show as well. I'm still trying to get her into the books. She goes more for the loves stories. Congratulations on all your accomplishments.

im in 10th grade and im in the process of reading Bones to ashes. I really enjoy the bones television series and can't wait for the new season. I think anyone who is a forensic anthripologist diserves to be honored for helping the tons of thousands of people who lost their loved ones. I think Kathy Reichs books are genius and someday would like to work in a field similar to Kathys.
