Alison: I loved your book --- please, write another! Your little video is charming - the accent gets us every time. I wish I could see your stand-up routine. Best wishes - Marge Fine Posted by: Marge Fine | May 5, 2008, 6:39 pm

I LOVE this book! I mean I really LOVE this book! I could not put it down. It made me think and feel, laugh and cry, it was totally absorbing and I loved the heroine, Pippa. The book deserves every one of its many fantastic reviews. A fresh, new voice has arrived. Truly the best book I have read in years. I cannot recommend it highly enough! I recommended it to my book club and everyone is LOVING it. Posted by: Mona | March 24, 2008, 5:59 am

Having gotten to know Alison, mostly in her "mom" persona, and having read her novel in advance, unedited, form, I can tell everyone that they're in for a wonderful treat. The book is terrific; not just very funny and fun to read, but also very touching and thought-provoking. I'm recommending the book to my book club, and I can't wait to hear their reactions and discuss the book. Thanks, Alison; keep on writing, please. A sequel to The English American would be much appreciated! Posted by: Irene Cramer | February 28, 2008, 6:28 am

Alison Larkin is one of those rare writers that makes you laugh and cry at the same time. If her first novel is anything like her comedy, it will be one helluva good read. I can't wait, and I love the video! Posted by: Jenny Dee | November 5, 2007, 11:35 am
